About St Petersburg

St. Petersburg is located in western Russia on the Finnish Gulf and with proximity to the Baltic Sea. It is Russia's second largest city. It was formerly called Leningrad, but after a referendum in 1991, they returned to the old name of St. Petersburg. There are many ways to get around smoothly here. Mainly via tram, metro or train. The Metro is the second largest in Russia and the stations are often nicely decorated. Many tourists come here every year to see the beautiful architecture and the old buildings. As for entertainment the city has a rich culture and nightlife. Hovewer, it does help to know some words of Russian or simply the Russian alphabet. The people living here are not great in English.
