Overview

Multi-level pub and restaurant, with charming rooftop and complete views over Melbourne’s city skyline.

Found in Williamstown, south-west of Melbourne's CBD, Hobsons Bay Hotel offers several floors of dining and drinking, where the charming rooftop bar really is the cherry on top.

Set in a rustic, beautiful and 100 year-old pub, Hobsons Bay Hotel is more modern on the inside, even though the old charm is still around here as well. From the ground floor cosy main dining room and more casual public bar, through the first floor bar, balcony and private dining room, all the way up to the freshly built rooftop bar.

Equipped with a retractable roof and heaters, the terrace is a year-round destination, opening up to the summer breeze or protecting from the elements when needed. Mixing communal dining tables with a long stretch of front-row bar stools, here you really are face to face with some fantastic views over Williamstown, Port Phillip Bay and the complete Melbourne skyline on the horizon.

At the downstairs brasserie-style dining room, you can enjoy woodfired grill and rotisserie dishes from the open kitchen, while the rest of the venue serves a more classic, pub-style menu.

This means everything from 'Battered Fish & Chips' and 'HBH Cheeseburger', to tap cocktails and wine, as well as a mix of classic and local craft beers, poured directly at the upstairs rooftop.

Open daily from afternoon / lunch to late, Hobsons Bay Hotel mixes a high-quality venue with a friendly neighbourhood atmosphere, and the 100-seat rooftop is a great spot to enjoy sunny or sunset drinks and bites with a view. There's also plenty of weekly events, like the Thursday 'Trivia on the rooftop'.
