Perched on top of the Union Market, Hi-Lawn is a fun, laid-back and welcoming rooftop and green space, and pretty close to the perfect picnic spot in DC.
Opened during 2020, the impressive venue is one the most expansive rooftops in DC, outfitted with picnic tables, colorful patio umbrellas and designated picnic spaces on the artificial turf.
While the downstairs market is packed with culinary options (over 40 local vendors), the Hi-Lawn also holds its own artfully-designed shipping container working as a bar. Here you can order draft cocktails, boozy punch pouches, craft beers, well-curated wines and a few bites, like Griddled Cheese Sandwich.
Surrounded with 360-degree views over the rapidly-changing neighborhood and the DC skyline, Hi-Lawn is a great venue for urban backyard-vibes and relaxing drinks under the summer sun. But, thanks to firepits and a heated tent, it is available during the colder season as well.
