The Char Bar & Grill holds the top three floors of the lovely Hotel Indigo, located riverside at Shanghai on the Bund. Two floors are indoor steakhouse and bar, while the top and 30th floor holds a fantastic roof terrace.

Up at the CHAR Rooftop you get unobstructed and amazing 270-degree views of the Huangpu river and the Pudong skyline.

The restaurant is known for mixing modern fusion with old classics, and especially for their excellent steaks. Up at the rooftop bar you can order from a wide selection of creative cocktails as well as choose from a distinctive wine list.

The terrace has quite a simple decor, with mostly regular bar stools and tables. But the best thing is that most of them are right at the railing, meaning you really get front row seats and a clear cut view over the river and the skyline.
