Monkey Board is one of the newest rooftop bars in New Orleans, perched on top of the modern and fantastic Troubadour Hotel New Orleans. Located in the heart of CBD, the 17th floor terrace offers fantastic 360-degree views of the downtown skyline.
Very modern and urban chic in decoration, Monkey Board (named after the highest platform of an oil rig) looks and feels like a smaller rooftop park.
Seatings come in many different shapes and forms, from community park benches and lounge chairs to four private cabanas. All framed by graffiti walls, hanging lanterns and New Orleans panoramics.
The rooftop menu is not huge, but serves a nice selection of crafted speacialty cocktails, beers in both can and on draft, a few wines and some Southern inspired bar bites. And while the menu is just fine, the main reason to visit Monkey Board is, apart from views, the vibrant atmosphere.
Often visited by local bands and live DJs, Monkey Board is a buzzing venue, especially on weekends. Visit at weekdays for the 4-6pm happy hour and a bit more chill vibes and during weekends for full on rooftop party atmosphere with a large and trendy crowd.Last updated: March 26, 2020
