Terrasse sur L’Auberge is located right by the Old Port of Montreal, and is probably the best rooftop bar Montreal has to offer when it comes to grand, historical and diverse views. Up here you get lovely sights of the Old Port and St. Lawrence River in one direction and St. Paul Street in the other.
Rather simple in decoration, with mostly regular tables and chairs in classic al-fresco style, the rooftop bar is (apart from views) most famous for its great selection of Sangria. Served in both glass and pitchers, you can choose from red, white, melon or bubbly Sangria.
There is also a nice selection of cocktails, and of course you can order both wine and bubbles without the mix of fruits and soda. The food menu is pretty small, but there are some nice dishes to share.
The ambience and service at Terrasse sur L’Auberge is usually great, with a nice mix of people enjoying the open-air breeze and fantastic views. Quite often there are also live DJs filling the terrace with music.
A perfect spot to catch a sunset, the beautiful lighting of Jacques-Cartier Bridge or in July-August, the International Fireworks Competition. Just note that visits during fireworks will mean a $30 extra charge on the final bill.
The Terrasse sur L’Auberge is not huge and works on a first-come, first-served basis, so be in good time to catch a table.Last updated: March 22, 2020
