The bar-restaurant La Caravelle is located on the Old Port, and comes with probably the smallest rooftop terrace in Marseille, but also one of the most authentic and charming.
Surrounded with a decor that has welcomed sailors since the 1920s, the indoor bar is complemented with a balcony terrace, offering breathtaking views over the Old Port and the Notre Dame de la Garde.
Found at the Hôtel Belle-Vue, the Caravelle restaurant serves 'homemade Marseille cuisine' as breakfast, lunch, dinner and tapas. And while a sunny lunch on the terrace is fantastic, it's at night that the excentric rooftop bar really comes to life.
The evening is set up in three stages, staring with aperitif and wine tasting from 6.30pm to 22pm. After that, from 9pm to 11pm, it is time for cocktails, where you can taste bartender Viviane's own creations, or ask for a 'tailor-made' one. Then from 11pm to 2am, it is fun until the end of the night.
Expect a friendly and vibrant atmosphere, and on Wednesday's and Friday's alos live jazz and pop concerts.
