Overview
Dual rooftop setting with lovely views over River Thames.
Set on the South Bank of the River Thames, between Hungerford Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, Southbank Centre is London's biggest arts centre. So, the place to go for concerts, events, exhibitions, workshops and culture, but also for alfresco drinks and bites with a view.
Offering two different rooftop settings, Queen Elizabeth Hall Roof Garden Bar & Kitchen has been around for a while. As the name hints, the second floor terrace is a lush oasis above the bustle, home to over 200 wild native plants, and surrounded by lovely views over River Thames and some of London's most famous buildings.
Open during the warmer months, this is a prime spot for charming summertime drinks, with the bar & kitchen serving everything from refreshing cocktails, cold beer, premium wines and specialty coffee, to savoury snacks and bbq dishes from the grill.
Starting spring 2025, the Roof Garden Bar & Kitchen also got a 'rooftop-sibling', when Seventy5th Balcony Bar opened up on level 5 of Royal Festival Hall.
Part sleek and modern interior lounge and bar, good weather also calls for visits out on the balcony terrace, where panoramic views of the River Thames and the central London skyline awaits.
The Seventy5th Balcony Bar menu features a variety of sharing boards and small plates, made with locally sourced and fresh ingredients, and complemented with a fine array of cocktails, mocktails, wines, bubbles, beer and cider.
Open from morning to evening, you can start your day at the rooftop with a fresh breakfast, enjoy a sunny afternoon break, grab some pre- or aftershow cocktails, or just get away from the hustle and bustle below and indulge in drinks and food with friends.
