In the Peckham area, you will find this simple but wonderful rooftop bar in London. 'Simple' could be translated into Frank's Cafe putting the urban in urban.
Located on top of an old car park, the rooftop bar has since 2009 been providing drinks and vibes with a view every summer. It belongs to Bold Tendencies, a not-for-profit creative enterprise and arts organisation.
The clientele here is quite young (mostly between 18-30) and the queues often winds long. Both in to the bar and to get a table. And reservations are not possible, so to get a good spot you just have to be in good time.
Open during the summer season, the atmosphere is lively, the view awesome and the prices very human. The roof terrace is spacious and furnished with wooden benches and tables. Apart from the regular drinks, there is also a smaller food menu available during evenings.
Frank's Cafe is open for all, including children and dogs. The best time to visit with these companions is probably for a rooftop brunch, served every weekend.
