Opened in early September 2021, Alto234 is one of the most exclusive places found in South Africa, quite simply described in three words: High. On. Life.

Perched on the 57th floor (234 meters up) of the fabulous The Leonardo in Sandton, the modern and minimalist rooftop comes with both interior and outdoor seating, surrounded with absolutely breathtaking 360-degree views over Johannesburg and its surroundings.

Split into seven areas, Alto234 holds large lounge suite spaces and dining areas, as well as look out points, mixing custom made furniture with contemporary African fabrics, and firepits warming the lounge areas on cooler days.

High, high above the buzz below, here you can enjoy a luxury tapas menu from the award winning AURUM Restaurant on the 7th floor of the hotel, along with fun, trendy and edgy signature cocktails, premium spirits and a great selection of wines. There is also a Moët Mini Machine, where Moët & Chandon tokens will let you sip French savoir-faire with golden sippers.

Open daily, Alto234 offers a variety of experiences, each at a different time of day. From the 'Afternoon Experience' (12pm to 4pm), through the 'Sunset Experience' (4pm to 7pm), finishing with the 'Night Light Experience' (7pm to 11pm).

There is a R390 entrance fee to enter, which includes a glass of Moët & Chandon, and a rooftop experience really out of the ordinary.
