Overview

New York-inspired bistro set over several levels, including rooftop bar and rooftop park.

Opened in 2021, Skanshof is a modern and exciting addition to the Gothenburg bar- and restaurant scene, bringing life into a former bank building at the square Skanstorget.

Set over several floors, here you find a downstairs restaurant with street side patio, a second floor bar with wrap around balcony, and a third floor rooftop bar and terrace. This might sound like plenty enough, but the rooftop bar is actually not the most elevated spot at Skanshof, as a couple of stairs lead you up the hillside to the lush and charming Skanshofsparken (Skanshof Park).

Surrounded with panoramic views over Gothenburg and the Skansen Kronan fortress, the rooftop bar and rooftop park offers plenty of seating to enjoy the summer sun. The park even holds a refreshing rooftop pool.

Skanshof is a NYC-inspired seafood-bistro, and the menu inlcudes everything from oyesters and lobster soup, to seafood platters, steak tartare and pasta. The food is complemented with a large selection of organic wines, as well as refreshing cocktails, bubbles and draft beers.

With a wide selection of areas, you can visit Skanshof for a sunny after work, a fine dinner, weekend brunch or maybe to challenge your friends with a game of boule in the rooftop park. Reservations are recommended for the restaurant, but the rooftop bar and park works on a first come, first served basis.
