Overview
Refined morning to evening venue with scenic views.
Found on top of Calton Hill, Cafe Calton has taken over from The Lookout by Gardener's Cottage, inviting to everything from breakfast and brunch, to sunset sips and dinners, all with a breathtaking view.
Built on a cantilever, and partially suspended over Calton Hill’s northwest slope, this is technically not a rooftop. But the elevated position, terrace and floor-to ceiling-glass windows still ensures one of the best panoramic views across Edinburgh and the Firth of Forth you can find.
Here you can enjoy a carefully curated menu of seasonal Scottish and international favourites, med with locally sourced, seasonal and organic ingredients. Or you just sip a spritz or a cocktail on the terrace.
Well worth the climb up the hill, Cafe Calton is somewhat of a hidden gem, and the sunset views are probably the most amazing Edinburgh has to offer. Book a table for a meal inside, but for drinks and terrace seating, Cafe Calton is first come first served.
