Overview
Fountainhead bar and restaurant is closed, but the Fountainhead Market continues.
Fountainhead Chicago is a classic beer and whiskey place with a fresh take on seasonal pub fare. With a local feel, both in atmosphere and ingredients, this north Chicago establishment also comes with a lovely rooftop deck.
The rustic, wooden decorated terrace do not have the best views in town, but make up for it in atmosphere and plentiful of drinks.
The rooftop garden has its own menu when it comes to food, a bit slimmer than in the downstair main dining room, but still with a good set of options, like 'Nashville hot wings', Cheese plate' and 'FH burger'.
When it comes to drinks, the options are almost limitless, especially in the beer and whiskey section. If you are overwhelmed by to much choices, the helpfull and knowledgeable staff will gladly give you a hand.
Fountanhead usually is quite relaxed and low-key on weekdays, but on weekends it can be busy and reservations are recommended. Popular among the local crowd, but definitely worth the trip for anyone who wants to enjoy a sunny afternoon with endless options of beer and a great atmosphere at one of the best local rooftop bars in Chicago.
From time to time there are also different events on the terrace, like live bands performing and rooftop yoga during the summer.
