New Rooftop Bar, the Biggest in London, Opens in Brixton

All you need to know.

May 6, 2026

London is already home to several grand rooftop bars. From the luxury rooftop of Wagtail to the unmissable CÉ LA VI in Paddington Square, patrons have a great many choices to explore. None of them, however, can boast the size of the latest opening in the London rooftop bar scene.

Set up close to the tube and village market, Freight Brixton opened on 7 May 2026 to become the biggest London rooftop bar right off the bat. However, it's not just relying on its size to draw in the crowds. Over the coming weeks and months, a superb schedule of music acts will be coming to light up the rooftop to announce its arrival.

Generating the Summer Vibes Everyone's After

Opening just as the spring was truly turning into summer, Freight Brixton knew it was time to pump up the appeal with some amped up music sets. It's a trend that we see across the entertainment space, from online casinos to the festival scene. After all, when you explore online casino games, you'll find music games trending upwards.

Stage 888, Eggs Factor, and Chilli Heat Spicy Spins have been on the upswing as the days have grown longer, while an official slot remains the main attraction. Spinnin' Records Into the Beat is all about bringing the genre of music they champion to slots play, getting many a phone and laptop rumbling with each spin.

Of course, it's around this time that the festival season begins to bubble up. Across the UK, fields will be transformed into concert venues, and grand main stages will be swarmed by thousands of fans. Freight Brixton's getting into the swing of things with a stacked slate of live acts, starting with Blue Lab Beats on opening night.

London's largest rooftop then welcomed David Rodigan on 9 May, Caribbean Rocks on 10 May, Sophie Faith on 14 May, Dark Arts Night Fayre on 15 May, and Soul-Full on 16 May. Even in the week before opening, multiple acts throughout the week were booked through to 9 July, dotted around some choice 2026 World Cup matches.

A Grand, Open-Air Experience in London

The entrance to Freight Brixton is like stepping into a whole new world. It takes the form of a tunnel entrance encased by graffiti walls near a cycling path. However, within the tunnel, it's beaming neon lights and a set of steel steps ready to transport you to the sprawling rooftop venue.

Up top, patrons will find live music, food festivals, DJ collectives, major sports on the big screens, chef residencies, and more than enough cocktail bars. It's aimed at being an all-in-one experience, where you can enjoy great food, buzzing tunes, and even some of the biggest matches of the spring and summer.

The rooftop itself is located just around the corner from the Brixton tube station and is opposite the shopping containers of Pop Brixton. Originally, 33 Brixton Station Road wasn't to be its home. Over the last couple of years, the operators were trying to get in above Sports Direct on Pope's Road, but that 2024 opening fell through.

Already teeming with rooftop bars, Freight Brixton will immediately make a splash with its colossal, over 1,000 capacity venue and stacked slate of acts and sports. It's opening just in time to be the perfect place to go on the warm summer evenings.
