Since Downtown Camper by Scandic opened up a couple of months ago, we have had our eyes on this place and especially the roof terrace perched on the 9th floor, for a very long time. And boy did we time in one of the most beautiful days in the whole winter, when we decided to make a visit. Sunshine as far as the eyes could see (very rare this time of year in Sweden) and -10 degrees. Perfect conditions!

Of course, the first and most important part for us to explore, was the roof terrace and the hyped rooftop swimming pool. We headed up here already at 07:00 AM, to get some nice sunrise pictures and privacy. The first hour we had the whole terrace and area for ourselves. It was super luxurious, and the relaxation couldn’t had been better. So, that’s a tip if you want some lone time on the rooftop. Later during the day there’s more people hanging out here.
The rooftop pool is heated to 38 degrees (very important regarding the cold climate in Sweden) and with an infinity edge and views over large parts of Stockholm and the surrounding landscape and water. Super beautiful. One of the best view spots you can find in this city. You can see many of the famous buildings in Stockholm from here. The City Hall, Globen, Slussen, Gröna Lund, Clara Kyrka and many more. Also, a perfect place for some memorable and beautiful pictures.

Inside, there’s a big sauna, sun loungers, modern showers and some refreshments in form of drinks and fruits. And in the background, you can hear relaxing tunes from the speakers. The cost of entering here is 395 SEK (for guests at the hotel) and 595 SEK for all others. Quite expensive, but if you ask us, it was worth every penny. The fact that you can hang out here for more then 5 hours and get some nice and memorable pictures, makes it all worth it.
Food and drinks are always an important aspect for us. And we tried both The Nest Cocktail Lounge (their sky bar), the restaurant called Camp Fire and the breakfast.
The food was good. Nothing more, nothing less. From the sky bar, we tried the Poké Bowl and Steak Philly Sandwich. It tasted as you expect. In the restaurant we decided to share 4 different starters. Tacos, langos, ribs and Peruvian tostadas. When the food arrived at our table, it looked so delicious. Maybe we’re picky, but we did expect at little more from the taste. It will surely come. The restaurant is quite new, and chefs are most certain testing out some stuff to get everything perfect.

BUT, the cocktails were amazing! This time we decided to try their different mocktails (non alcoholic drinks) and they were made to perfection. A “must try” if visiting The Nest Cocktail Lounge. Very refreshing and well made. Lots of cred to the bar tenders for this.
Breakfast is served both in the big restaurant Camp Fire, or at The Nest Cocktail lounge located at the 9th floor. We had our breakfast in the on the 9th floor. They also have an exclusive area for the Wellness customers to enjoy their breakfast up here. Very cozy with comfortable sofas and city views to die for.
A room on a high floor with a nice view, is something you should always ask for when checking in. We got a corner room with views over Brunkebergs Torg. Very cozy and nice. The room was spacious and with a very nice daybed/lounger in the window (see picture). A small detail that made the experience super good. Otherwise the standard was good. Modern and cozy interior, with a fresh bathroom equipped with a small bath tub. Nothing fancy, but still nice.
This roof terrace is definitely worth a visit if you like a grand view and want some fancy Instagram pictures. For us, this is one of the best rooftop pools in northern Europe. Luxurious, relaxed and with a superb view over the city. We hope they’ll open a rooftop bar out here during the summer as well. That would have been the icing on the cake. Right now, drinks can only be ordered indoors, from the sky bar.
