The Top at Molina Lario have two different terraces. One for dinner guests with view of the mountains and the cathedral, and the other one with a swimming pool and rooftop bar with view over the Mediterranean and the cathedral. We decided to try both for a lunch and some afternoon cocktails.

20 degrees and sunshine means summer for us Swedes, but for the Spanish people, this is winter. So, we had almost the whole dinner terrace for ourselves during our lunch.
The bar manager and bartender Lautaro Amarilla made us feel very welcomed directly. He had setup a great table for us where we were about to enjoy a 4-course lunch with drinks.
First, we were treated with a Vermouth. A classic drink here in Spain. Very fresh and a perfect aperitif before starting to eat.
On the pictures below you can see what kind of food we had to eat. Both classic Spanish dishes (croquettes) and some local classics like a chicken sandwich. For dessert, some refreshing fruits. And to this, some red and white wine, and some beers. Perfect to the food.
But the main thing here was the cocktails. After the dinner, Lautaro made us some different creations. All made to perfection, both regarding the taste and looks. We tried a Gin & Tonic with a twist and a fancy Espresso Martini with a twist. Wow!
The view from the dinner terrace is beautiful over the mountains. Unfortunately, the terrace lays in the shadow almost all day. Perfect in summer time, a little colder in the winter.
After the dinner we headed up to the rooftop bar and swimming pool area. This terrace has sun all day long, and up here there were a lot of people enjoying cocktails in the sun. There are both lounge sofas and classic bar stoles and tables up here.
Grab the bar stoles for the best view by the edge of the terrace or sink down in one of the sofas while gazing out over the Mediterranean with the sun in your face.
The swimming pool is only available for the guests of the hotel. But this time of year (December) it’s to cold to swim anyway. We loved the atmosphere up here. Lively and vibrant with a mix of both a younger and older crowd from locals and tourists.
The cocktails up here are great to. It’s a more classic cocktail menu, but the drinks are made with the same love and perfection as from the rooftop bar on the 6th floor.
The Top at Molina Lario is a must visit if you like cocktails. Also, extra plus for the great service and beautiful view. This is one of our favorite rooftop bars in Malaga. A nice place both for a lunch, dinner or drinks.
