On top of the hostel Safestay Athens, located right by Monastiraki Square, you find a lovely and easy-going rooftop bar and restaurant. This is a bit of a hidden gem, offering spectacular 360-degree views of downtown Athens with the Acropolis as a powerful background.

Not as fancy as a lot of the other Athen rooftop bars in decor, but instead a very relaxing spot offering great food and drinks, at very human prices.

Open from early morning to late at night, the rooftop bar serves breakfast, traditional and great Greek food, bites like sandwiches and pizza, as well as a wide range of classic cocktails, coffee drinks and ice cold beers.

The terrace has seating both in the open and in glassed areas, and up here you usually find a mixed crowd of tourist and locals in all ages. Visit between 6-7pm for happy hour and to catch the lovely sunset, or just about anytime to enjoy the friendly service and chill-out vibe.
